I’m so excited for our ragdoll kittens to arrive early December!
We decided to adopt two sisters kittens from a local ragdoll breeder in B.C Canada called Kootenay Ragdolls. Lori was fantastic for the whole selection of the kittens, Facetiming weekly and sending photo updates.
I knew I wanted a blue point ragdoll, when Lori first put up her post about her kittens they were just a couple of weeks old. I feel so happy she had a blue point (mitted) female kitten. I reserved her right away.
After a couple of weeks of watching the kittens interact and play together I did a little research on two kittens vs one.
It turns out, two kittens can be easier for a few reasons. I thought about the financials (ragdolls as a breed aren’t cheap) yet I knew in my heart that I wanted to to get two sisters. I was quick after making this realization to ask about getting a second kitten. There were 3 kittens I had narrowed down on, and in the end chose (with the breeders nudge that they are great together personality wise) chose a blue bicolor mink.
Both the parents from this litter were mink, yet the kitten I’d chose had some recessive traditional genes.
The sister kittens we picked out ended up being a mitted blue point ragdoll kitten and a blue bi-color mink ragdoll.
We get them the first week of December and I cannot wait. I am beyond excited. I think about them every day and can’t wait to share the surprise with our 4 kids.
